HEALTH AND HEALING THROUGH THE EYES OF A MEDICAL INTUITIVE
by Carol Ritberger
A growing body of scientific evidence indicates that virtually every illness which affects the body – from aches to arthritis, headaches to heart disease, and common cold sores to cancer has neuro-psychoenergetic roots, and that all begin as a pre-illness in the human energy system. This latest evidence discloses some other important information that is causing allopathic medicine and those involved in the healing sciences to re-think why we become ill, and re-evaluate how the healing process should be approached.
What we are learning about illness is that it tells a story of how we live our lives, and its presence tells us that something we are doing, thinking or feeling is not working and is creating resistance and causing us to feel compromised. We are learning that illness and the different types of illnesses are directly linked to the quality of our thoughts, the suppression of emotions, and are the result of the limiting patterns of behavior created by our attitudes and beliefs. We are learning that if we are to truly understand the nature of illness, then we must not overlook the significant role that these factors play in the creation of illness, and how they affect the body’s ability to maintain good health.
The Purpose of Illness
For those involved in the art and science of intuitive medicine, illness is the soul’s way of trying to tell us that something is preventing it from finding its physical expression, and that we are in a situation or a relationship that is causing us to have to compromise who we really are. Its presence helps us recognize that something needs to change, and needs to change immediately. As a teacher, illness offers us the opportunity to learn more about who we really are and to understand why we do the things we do. Its purpose is to slow us down or stop us long enough to reassess our priorities and to offer us the opportunity to eliminate the habits that are causing us to do what is urgent rather than to do what is important, meaning doing things for other people’s reasons rather than our own. Illness holds beneath its symptoms hidden meanings that reveal what we must do if we are to restore balance and good health to the physical body. The presence of illness requires that we re-visit the choices we have made in our lives, so that we can use those choices to help us make better ones in the future. It encourages us to express our emotions rather than suppressing them, and it helps us recognize which habits, thoughts, attitudes and beliefs are supporting the continuance of patterns of behavior that no longer serve us well, and that are preventing our soul from finding its physical expression.
We Exist on Two Dimensions
As a medical intuitive, I see that we exist in the dimension of matter (the physical body) and in the dimension of energy (the soul.) When these two dimensions are not working toward the common goal of unification, an tension occurs in the auric vibrational field of energy that surrounds and interpenetrates the physical body. This tension takes form as an energetic pre-illness and expresses itself through energy blockages which create the physical discomfort and pain associated with body tension, knotted muscles and headaches. Energetic congestion creates psychological feelings of being stuck, paralyzed by fear, and mentally confused, and depletion creates the physical sensations of being drained of energy, tired and exhausted. And, if these pre-illnesses are not dealt with on an energetic level or on a psychological level, then the potential for the creation of illness in the physical body increases significantly.
The Language of Energy
The energy body (the aura) provides valuable insight into how we cope with life and the challenges that life presences us. Its energy discloses where in the physical body we are most susceptible to the formation of illness, and unlike the physical body, which uses a broad-range of physical symptoms to alert us that something is wrong or malfunctioning, the energy body pin-points precisely where the origin of the pre-illness is occurring. The language of energy reveals what emotional and psychological patterns of thinking and behavior are responsible for creating the energetic pre-illness in the first place. This highly-developed communication network provides the vehicle for the soul, the mind and the body to communicate with each other. Through its bioenergetic messages, it communicates with all aspects of who we are, and when the lines of communication are open and when they are not. If the lines of communication break down, the energy body will instruct the mind and the physical body what they must do in order to restore balance, either energetically, medically or psychologically. It accomplishes this by quickly and effectively communicating with the organs, the glands and all of the systems in the physical body.
Illnesses and Their Hidden Meanings
As a means of helping you better understand what energy can tell you about yourself, let’s look at some of the most common illnesses and the hidden meanings behind them. My intention in doing so, is to offer you a different way of seeing yourself and seeing the underlying cause of why you become ill.
Heart Disease – Heart disease is associated with people who tend to over commit themselves and who push themselves too hard. They struggle with never having enough time to do all of the tasks on their plate and are burdened with the responsibility of taking care of other people. These people are always stressed, pressed for time, and rushing too much. They suffer from an urgency addiction and keep that their body in a prolonged state of fight-or-flight stress reaction.
Food Allergies – Food allergies begin with a change in the intestines and are brought about by chronic ph imbalances in the digestive tract. A diet that is balanced in acid and alkaline foods helps manage food allergies as does eating foods that are compatible with your blood type. Food allergies are related to habitual feeling of low self-esteem, being emotionally overly sensitive, and the chronic need to please others. They can be also brought about by sustained feelings of being out of control. Chronic Infections (Sinus, bladder and kidney) – An increased intake of dark green leafy vegetables helps keep the liver functioning properly and assists in maintaining a healthy ph balance in the digestive tract. Foods rich in alkaline are also beneficial, as are red fruits and vegetables. The root cause of these chronic infections are anger, resentment, feelings of hate, and the excessive tendency of being emotionally out-of-control and emotionally volatile. Chronic sinus infections represent the suppression of intuition.
Hyperglycemia and Hypoglycemia – These illnesses are caused by glucose imbalances and involve the thyroid. However, the origin site of these malfunctions is in the pancreas. Fear, feelings of despair, grief, and hopelessness throw the pancreas off -balance and upset the blood sugar’s delicate balance. People who do things for other people’s reasons and not their own or whose behavior is dictated by the “should and should not” have a higher susceptibility to these aliments, as do people who find it difficult to express their emotional needs.
Diabetes – This illness is caused when the insulin production of the pancreas becomes exhausted, decreases and may even stop being produced. Chronic feelings of despair and hopelessness are at the root cause of this illness. When a person loses the sweetness of life and becomes burdened with the struggle of life, it is not uncommon for diabetes to surface.
Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism – This illness occurs when there is an imbalance in the production of thyroid hormones. Hyper means too much production and hypo means too little production. The thyroid is responsible for metabolism. Frustration around the inability to express oneself emotionally is a root cause of this illness. People who tend to be to nice, or to hold in their emotions or who are unwilling to express their feelings, desires and needs tend to have a higher susceptibility for this illness.
Cancer – The root cause of cancer, energetically, occurs when there are strong feelings of abandonment, betrayal and fear of being alone. Cancer has been called the disease of the nice people because these people tend to hold in their emotions rather than creating conflict. People who tend to have a higher predisposition to cancer seem to have patterns of behavior which encourage them to overextend themselves both mentally and emotionally for others, and who tend to put the emotional needs of other people before their own.
